Welfare Notice

Dear Occupant,

Unfortunately there will be no water supply within Carver Bks between 1300 – 1500 Hrs Fri 24 Nov 2017

This is due to several major water leaks currently within Carver Bks, which are affecting supply.  Currently there is over 1500 Cubic Meters of water going to waste each month.  Seven Trent Services require to turn the water supply off to conduct remedial repair works to resolve this issue. 

The majority of the Married Quarters will not be affected. The areas that will be affected are  Wimbish Walk, Broadoakes Close and Peveralls Road.

Applications are invited for the post of an Aids & Adaptations (Grants) Officer to work within our small but dedicated Environmental Health Team based at the Saffron Walden offices.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the Council’s statutory duties and responsibilities relating to the provision of Disabled Facilities Grants are met.
Duties typically include completing and assisting with applications, carrying out tests of resources, checking quality of work, and liaising with clients, contactors, Occupational Therapists and other stakeholders. The post holder will need to be selfmotivated, organized and committed to deliver exceptional customer service.
We are looking for an experienced officer who is a team player, enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills. There will be requirement for some out of hours working.

Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre

2017 Christmas Fayre 23rd – 26th November
The Christmas Fayre opens at 2pm on Thursday 23rd November with a children’s lantern parade at 5.30pm and amazing firework display at 7.45pm.
All the stalls will be open, many shops stay open later and there are lots of bars and restaurants in the town to enjoy our Suffolk hospitality.
There is a free drop in lantern workshop from 3.15pm – 4.30pm for children who would like to take part in the parade in the arc shopping centre. Our parade leaves the centre at 5.30pm and travels via Abbeygate Street to Angel Hill. The fireworks are in the Abbey Gardens but you can see them from all over the Angel Hill. At 6pm we have the EACH annual carol concert in the Cathedral and a full programme of music on Angel Hill.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our admin pool as a receptionist/administrator. Your key purpose will be to provide friendly and professional reception cover and efficient administrative support.
The right attitude is essential for this role, we are looking for someone with a friendly ‘can do’ approach, competent IT skills and exceptional organisational skills. Experience of working with SIMS would be preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
