It is the responsibility of the head of household to register any member of his/her family that has a disability and or additional needs (including education) with his Unit Welfare Officer.  This is a simple process that takes very little time, however its completion is extremely important in order for your family’s circumstances to be understood, taken into consideration and supported by the Chain of Command when deciding future assignments (postings).

A common name for this registration is called AGAI 108 which is the main document of Reference, a copy of which can be obtained on request from your Chief Clerk or Welfare Team.

So, what will Your Assignment (Posting) Officer in the Army Personnel Centre (APC) do?  They will ensure that:
Subject to the over riding needs of the Army, that account will be taken of the personal preferences of the serving person and their family’s needs.

There is more help that can be afforded your family but this can only be done provided that you are registered.

If in doubt ask your Welfare Team for advice, and if you need to register do so promptly.
